My name is Connor McCoy, and I’m a musician born and raised near the glorious mountains of Salt Lake City, Utah. I graduated Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA in 2018 as a piano principal with a BA in Professional Music and a concentrate in Music Production & Engineering. After graduating, I moved to LA to pursue an assistantship with Dave Kushner and Jose Cancela of Monkey Mind Music group, helping score shows on network TV and streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. Since summer of 2021, I've been living in Chicago, where I work as a freelance composer/audio engineer by day and as a piano bar entertainer in the heart of downtown by night.
A little more about me:
When I was younger, I attended the Madeleine Choir School in Salt Lake City, where I first learned how to read and sing classical music with the cathedral choir, performing on multiple occasions with the Utah Opera, the Utah Symphony, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and on concert tours throughout Italy (2005) and Spain (2008). At Berklee College of Music, I became a part of Berklee's premiere a capella group "Pitch Slapped" (winners of the ICAA competition in 2011 and 2014) - touring with them both nationally and internationally, teaching workshops and performing shows throughout the United States and parts of China.
Also while at Berklee, I formed an indie rock/bluegrass group called Yankee & The Foreigners, and toured with them internationally in both Canada and the U.K. In 2018, we were sent as Berklee's ambassadors to Singapore and China to teach songwriting & production to students there.
I've been lucky enough to be featured as the lead vocalist in two of Samsung Mobile’s advertisement campaigns, both of which racked up over 30 million views at the time that they aired.
As a film composer, I've scored several films to date, some of which been featured in festivals around the country, including but not limited to: Orlando Film Festival, Way Down Film Festival, Red Rocks Film Festival, NFFTY Film Festival, Coronado Island Film Festival, Long Beach Indie Film Festival, and the Burbank International Film Festival, to name a few.
My own music, which I write, produce, and release independently, has racked up over a million streams on streaming services, and has been featured in multiple playlists and blogs.
